Fourteen OAK members carpooled and one taxied to the fabulous exhibit featuring clothes designer Yves Saint Laurent. We seemed to have our timing right, even though one car full managed to find them selves on Castro Street (noticing the many colorful flags on display) – we were almost the first into the doors. It was interesting to see how some of us grouped up determining without saying a word those that were faster than others –some that chatted, some that were a little more serious - all without a word of coordination!
Seeing the clothes as well as a video overhead, brought back many memories of how divine we all looked in some of those chic designs – maybe not quite YSL but close! Loved his colors, the fabrics were to die (dye) for and we liked best the designs that showed one’s nipples or the wedding dress covering only the strategic area’s of one’s body – and as Joyce S said –“that would be for my next wedding!”
The museum has a nice eating area – we filled two tables and one of the members was a little aghast at her $11 glass of wine ---oh heck ---she deserved it! After filling up on various menu items we made our way back to the gift shop looking for special "buys" like the basket made from recycled chop sticks or the cool African animal that all voted on to buy for the upcoming “Escape to Africa” (we donate a basket for the auction) benefit.
Then we found the elevator to the observation deck and with the most perfect Thursday afternoon in San Francisco saw vistas from every side –what a lovely sight! Some of us rested – Kate M. recovering from foot surgery sat down giving us a couple of moments to chat – there never seems like we have enough time to have one to one …today we did!

What a fun day! I couldn't resist bringing home two of those delightful African animals (pictured above)to add to my menagerie. They love it here and fit right in with my "wild" collection.
