Motion made by Lucy F. for members to make their own individual safari themed outfits and wear them to the March meeting, seconded by Carol B. and approved.  It was mentioned that we only needed to be costumed from the waist up since no one sees our feet – thanks Trudy.  Carol B. offered her friends 5-6 foot wood animals for the event though they are in Indio!

Benefit Invitation Addressing date:  Cool your jets - it will NOT be March 12th since that is the regular March meeting – Karen T. will get back to us with the correct date.

Social:  Not a thing to report.  But then Carolyn A. reported the mailing from the Golden Gates racetrack – we are offered the Preakness or Belmont Days for $40 a piece or $27 for Sunday events. 8 members indicated interest - Carolyn will check with track to determine minimum number necessary for that price.  Interested in May 17th.

Museum Event: Karen T. reported on the March 5th as the date of the trip to SF to see the Yves St. Laurent Show at the De Young Museum.  Cost anywhere from $10 to $20.  We will carpool – meet at the pink wall at the St. Stephens exit at 8:30 a.m.

  1. Pamela, you truly are a "techie" extrordinaire. How you find time to do this on top of all the other things you do is a mystery to me.

  6. Okay, I finally found how to post a comment. Pamela, I completely agree with Vija, you truely are amazing. I hope other chapters will follow in your footsteps. I am trying to ressurect our "Prop Wash" newsletter, and hope to be able to post it in the near future. Detroit Chapter just had a meeting on Friday at one of our newer member's home, Carolyn George. She stepped up to the plate as our Editor this year, and is doing a great job. One of our members, Patty Taddy has been in the hospital for a few weeks, and hopefully will be out soon. Our President, Roni Lents was telling us tales about when she roomed with you (Pamela) at a convention many years ago. We are all surviving one of the coldest winters we have had in a few years. We have a foot or more of snow that just sits there, defying the sun god to melt it. As long as it is this cold though, we get more sunshine -- go figure. It is better than those warmer (40 degree) days that produce grey clouds. Send some of your sunshine our way with much, much warmer days, and I will see you in Boise in about 10 days. Best wishes to all, Lavon Cook, DTW

  7. Hi Lavon,
Please go to the OAK blog and see yourself!! I sent it on to Arlene so she could be updated.
If more chapters were add stuff as you did we could hear more about each other while waiting for the Quarterly. But people have to make the habit of reading the blog daily - like a newspaper.
Let me know if you receive this,

    pamela

  8. Pamela, This is beautiful, however I think you need to hold a class!!!!!!!!
I would love to do this for San Jose. After going into blogger.com and setting up an account I worked for a short time but as yet have not found an efficient way to move our newsletter into the blog. I'm sure I am making it more difficult than it is. Must run but will try again later.
    Bonnie SJC
P.S. In the meantime Lavon's addition is a good idea for the chapters to quickly add news.
